Final Project in the Wood Shop
Did you ever have to make up your mind? Say yes to one and leave the other behind? Did you ever have to make up your mind?
Before the project begins, I have the arduous task of deciding on a project. After several weeks of flipping through magazines and searching the internet, I decide on a project in Wood Magazine Issue 166 November 2005, page 60: half table.
Official Day One: Saturday, November 19, 2011. Alarm rang at 8 am and I turned it off, so I did not get an early start in the wood shop.
I arrived at the shop @ 1 PM just intime to conference with the professor, and then and set to work squaring edges and ends on the jointer and chop saw.
Set up the table saw for tenons. Prof Beykirck checked my work every step of the way, helping me with the table saw set up, reminding me of the proper hand positioning. It took me the better part of an hour to cut eight tenons and boy does my hand and shoulder ache.
Only on bad corner when all was said and done.
worked in the shop for what feels like a million hours. Everything hurts, mostly my fingers.
